Washington, D.C. – On Friday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan requesting his testimony before the committee on the Biden-Harris administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. In the letter, Chairman McCaul highlighted that Sullivan and the National Security Council (NSC) wielded extraordinary influence regarding the planning and execution of the Biden-Harris administration's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Last week, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to U.S. Department of State Ambassador-at-Large at the Office of International Religious Freedom Rashad Hussain and Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Julieta Valls Noyes calling for urgent action on a group of Chinese dissidents, the Mayflower Church, fleeing religious persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They are still awaiting refugee status in Thailand.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has reiterated compliance with the subpoena for the July 2021 Dissent Channel cable sent by 23 staffers at the Kabul Embassy, as well as Secretary Blinken's response, would only be satisfied by allowing the committee to review the actual documents.

However, in an effort to show good faith, Chairman McCaul expressed the committee's willingness to receive a briefing on the documents – with the understanding that such a briefing does not constitute compliance with the subpoena.
