Internships

The House Foreign Affairs Committee Republican Staff is evaluating applications for the Fall 2026 Internship Program. The deadline for fall internship applications is July 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.

All candidates should be hardworking, professional, and quick learners. Strong oral and written communication skills and a close attention to detail are required. Duties include assisting staff with substantive research projects, newsletters, preparing for Committee hearings and markups, and daily operation of the office.

To apply for a fall internship with the Foreign Affairs Committee Republican Staff, please submit the following materials

• Current Resume
• Cover letter
• A 500-word writing sample on the below topic:
  What do you see as the most pressing international issue facing the world today?
• Two references
   

Please submit all forms in PDF format and with the title, “LastName_FirstName_DocumentType.” For example, your resume would be saved as Doe_John_Resume” and your cover letter would be saved as “Doe_John_CoverLetter.” Please then email the above documents to HFACGOP.Resumes@mail.house.gov with the subject line “Fall 2026 Internship Program.” Emails without this subject line risk being missed by the hiring staff.
