Austin, TX – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has announced the full committee will hold a roundtable discussion with some of the family members of the U.S. service members killed in the terrorist attack at the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA)'s Abbey Gate on August 26, 2021. The attack happened during the emergency evacuation from Afghanistan following the Taliban seizing control of the country on August 15, 2021. Thirteen U.S. service members were killed and 45 more were wounded in the attack, making it the deadliest day for U.S.

Washington, D.C. – Last week, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) was joined by 19 lawmakers in sending a letter to President Biden urging him to permanently freeze the $6 billion covered under the administration's hostage deal with Iran last month. The lawmakers pressed the need to ensure the funds remain out of reach to the regime, particularly in light of its ongoing support to terrorist groups and proxies, including Hamas and Hezbollah.
