The resolution is led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Subcommittee Chairman Joe Wilson (R-SC), and Chairman McCaul served as an original cosponsor.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, on a bipartisan basis, has released the following statement regarding basic transparency of aggregated licensing outcomes for companies based in China who are on the Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) Entity List. The licensing data covers a three-month time period – from January 3 through March 31, 2022. The licenses authorize sales of often sensitive and controlled technology to blacklisted companies.

Last week, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to U.S. Department of State Ambassador-at-Large at the Office of International Religious Freedom Rashad Hussain and Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Julieta Valls Noyes calling for urgent action on a group of Chinese dissidents, the Mayflower Church, fleeing religious persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They are still awaiting refugee status in Thailand.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Jim Risch (R-ID) released the following statement after the Biden administration altered the U.S. Conventional Arms Transfer (CAT) Policy. In 2018, the Trump administration changed the policy to elevate the importance of U.S. economic security, a move which directed the U.S. government to prioritize strengthening our defense industrial base.
