Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has released the following statement in response to the bipartisan committee action to disclose updated data on licensing outcomes from the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

"It is unacceptable BIS approved more than $23 billion worth of licenses to sell U.S. technology to blacklisted companies based in China. This critical U.S. technology is going to the Chinese Communist Party's surveillance and military efforts. BIS must and can do more."

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the department's ongoing failure to produce documents and information requested by the committee pertaining to the Biden administration's disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. To date, the State Department has produced only 236 pages of documents, most of which were already publicly available or included substantial redactions. If the department's noncompliance persists, the committee will be forced to proceed with compulsory process.

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressing grave concern regarding the administration's failure to impose visa restriction sanctions on members of the Taliban who are responsible for the abhorrent treatment of Afghan women and girls.

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging the United States to seek a finding of non-compliance and refer Iran's violations to the U.N. Security Council at the upcoming International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Board of Governors meeting.

Washington, D.C.–  Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul gave the following remarks ahead of the markup of his bill, H.R. 1153, which mandates the administration to ban TikTok or any software applications that threaten U.S. national security. H.R. 1153 passed out of committee 24-16.
