Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul delivered the following remarks at the Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia's roundtable meeting with families of individuals held hostage by Hamas. Chairman McCaul highlighted his recent trip to Israel, where he visited with families of Hamas hostages and Israeli officials including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Chairman McCaul also reaffirmed American solidarity with Israel and condemned the ongoing brutality of Hamas terrorists.
Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has released the following statement in response to joint U.S.-U.K. military action, supported by other allies and partners against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen. Over the last three months, the Houthis launched at least 27 attacks on vessels transiting the region, including direct attacks on U.S. sailors, with little to no response.

Washington, D.C. — Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul issued the following statement on the death of Majd Kamalmaz, an American humanitarian and psychologist, following his wrongful detention by the Assad regime in Syria.
"This week we found out Majd Kamalmaz, a Texan wrongfully detained in Syria in 2017, died while held hostage by the Assad regime. During his captivity, Majd's family fought tirelessly for his release – tragically, the Assad regime has robbed the Kamalmaz family of their future together.
Stuttgart, Germany – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) is leading a bipartisan delegation that included a stop in Stuttgart, Germany where they visited AFRICOM and received a classified briefing from AFRICOM Deputy Commander Lieutenant General John Brennan.
