Meeks sent a letter with a bipartisan group of members to the United Nations Secretary-General conveying strong concern over the Taliban's mandates banning Afghan women from working for nongovernmental organizations (NGO) and the United Nations (UN) in Afghanistan, and encouraging the UN to continue its support for Afghan women by opposing male-only humanitarian aid implementation.
