Washington, D.C.  – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul delivered an opening statement at a bipartisan roundtable with family members of Americans who are currently held hostage by Hamas following the horrific October 7th terrorist attacks on Israel. During his remarks, Chairman McCaul honored the legacy of those who were killed during the massacre and called for the safe return of those who are still held captive.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. officials yesterday acknowledged a Chinese spy balloon was spotted flying over Montana near a nuclear reactor site. Chairman McCaul has requested a briefing from the Biden administration on the balloon and specifics behind why it has not been removed from U.S. airspace.


November 5, 2024

Austin, Texas  House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security Alan Estevez expressing his frustration regarding the Bureau of Industry and Security's (BIS) overall aversion to enforcing export controls against China's semiconductor industry, including Huawei and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), which undermines the integrity of the U.S. export control regime.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul joined ABC's "This Week" with Martha Raddatz this morning to discuss his recent visit to Ukraine, where he conducted vigorous, in-person oversight of U.S. assistance and met with top officials in the country. They also discussed the "unholy alliance" between Vladimir Putin and Chairman Xi in China.
