Tonight, as elected officials and their guests gather in Washington to hear the State of the Union, women across Afghanistan are suffering under the brutal Taliban regime.

Washington D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul announced the following subcommittee rosters for the 118th Congress.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has invited former Afghan Ambassador to the United States Roya Rahmani to be his guest for the State of the Union next week. Ambassador Rahmani was Afghanistan's first female ambassador to the United States, serving in the post from December 2018 until July 2021, as well as Afghanistan's first female ambassador to Indonesia and ASEAN. Ambassador Rahmani has been an outspoken champion for women's rights both in Afghanistan and around the world.
