Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY), along with Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Chairman Joe Wilson (R-SC) and Ranking Member Dean Phillips (D-MN), introduced a bipartisan bill to impose sanctions on a wide range of activities supporting Iran's missile and drone program ahead of the October 2023 expiration of the UN missile ban on Iran.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday regarding the department's failure to comply with the committee's subpoena compelling it to produce of the July 13, 2021 Dissent Channel cable regarding Afghanistan and the department's official response to it, as well as the insufficiency of the department's summaries of these documents and its April 27 briefing on them.

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul and Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks sent a letter with a bipartisan group of members to the United Nations Secretary-General conveying strong concern over the Taliban's mandates banning Afghan women from working for nongovernmental organizations (NGO) and the United Nations (UN) in Afghanistan, and encouraging the UN to continue its support for Afghan women by opposing male-only humanitarian aid implementation.

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia Chairman Joe Wilson (R-SC) sent a letter to National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan expressing deep concern that the Taliban is detaining innocent American citizens and imploring the administration to do more to secure the release of all Americans in Afghanistan, including by immediately classifying the detainees as hostages.
