Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul released the following statement on reports that Ben Hu, a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) who was conducting gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at dangerously unsafe biosafety levels, was one of three scientists who were ill with COVID-like symptoms in November 2019.
