Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY) have released the following statement announcing their full support for reauthorizing the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) before September 2025. By 2050 it is estimated that Africa will be the home to 2.5 billion people, with over half of this population being under the age of 25. This demographic boom will only further Africa's importance in the global economy.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul announced the full committee will hold a markup to consider various measures regarding security assistance in Ukraine, the reauthorization of the Trafficking of Victims Protection Act, and the freeze of funds which would be funneled to Iran-backed terror proxies on Tuesday, November 7th.

Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul spoke on the House Floor in support of H.R. 340, To impose sanctions with respect to foreign support for terrorist organizations, including Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and H.Res. 559, Declaring it is the policy of the United States that a nuclear Islamic Republic of Iran is not acceptable.

H.R. 340, which passed through the House with strong bipartisan backing, imposes sanctions on those providing support for Hamas.
