Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) and Asia and the Pacific Subcommittee Chairman Ted Yoho (R-FL) today released the below statement after introducing a resolution to strengthen trade relations with Taiwan.  The resolution, H. Res. 271, is authored by Rep. Yoho and co-sponsored by Rep. Royce.

“Taiwan is the United States’ tenth largest goods trading partner and the seventh largest market for America’s farmers and ranchers. The relationship between our two countries has been and always will be strong. With our shared values of democracy and open markets, it is important that we continue to grow this valued partnership. By doing so, it will not only benefit both our countries economically but it will promote democratic values and regional security in the Asia-Pacific region.”
