Given our debt crisis, the bar for justifying foreign aid is higher than ever. Wasteful spending on ineffective and unsustainable programs will not be tolerated. This hearing will provide Committee Members an opportunity to press two key agencies implementing U.S. foreign assistance programs – USAID and MCC – for an explanation of how they will effectively and efficiently use U.S. taxpayer dollars."
