McCaul, Cardin Issue Bipartisan Statement of Support for Ecuador
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Ben Cardin (D-MD) issued the following statement in support of Ecuador’s president, Daniel Noboa, following violent attacks by criminal groups across Ecuador.
“Ecuador is a key partner of the United States. Its security and prosperity are in the mutual interest of our peoples. We are horrified by the heinous acts of violence perpetrated by armed criminal groups across the country. We reaffirm our support for President Noboa as he moves to restore order and bring justice to those undermining the country’s stability. As Chairmen of foreign relations committees in Congress, we stand ready to support expeditious efforts by the administration to assist Ecuador in restoring security in the country.”
