Washington, DC– House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul released a statement on reports China's top nuclear weapons lab has used restricted U.S. computer chips. There have been American export restrictions for decades meant to prevent American technology from falling into the hands of foreign adversaries such as China. The Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) which is responsible for implementing these export controls in the United States, has been a major focus of the committee's oversight.
