Austin, TX – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has hired Olivia Late to serve as a press assistant. Late served as an intern in McCaul's personal office in 2021 before going on to serve as McCaul's campaign manager in 2022. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

Austin, TX House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul released the below statement in observance of the twelve-year anniversary of the murder of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent Jaime Zapata. In 2011, members of the Mexican cartel, Los Zetas, ambushed Agent Zapata and Former Special Agent Victor Avila, who served alongside Zapata and survived the attack. Avila remains committed to seeking justice for these heinous acts of crime and accountability for the murder of Agent Zapata.

BIS is a bureau within the Department of Commerce that is responsible for regulating the export of dual-use items – goods or technology that have both commercial and military applications.
