Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has released the following statement in response to Xi Jinping's three-day visit to Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin. 

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (D-NJ) are urging the presidents of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to leverage their position in the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to stop the bank's development funding from propping up the Nicaraguan regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul sent a letter to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) John Sopko requesting that SIGAR examine U.S.-supported humanitarian aid to Afghanistan and report to the committee on the sufficiency of mechanisms to prevent the diversion of taxpayer dollars to the Taliban. The Afghan people are suffering from dire humanitarian needs, especially Afghan women and children.
