Washington, D.C. - House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Congressman Michael Lawler (R-NY) sent a letter to the State Department expressing their concern with the existing backlog for processing passports, as well as allegations that bad actors are taking advantage of Americans seeking their passports for urgent and emergency travel. The lawmakers also urged the State Department to prosecute those guilty of fraud and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.
