Chairman Mast Statement on Russia’s Violation of Estonia’s Airspace
September 22, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast issued the following statement in response to Russia’s violation of Estonia’s airspace late last week.
“Another clear test by Russia: this time three Russian MiG 31s flying armed and in formation into Estonia within miles from the Estonian capital.
Last time, it was 19 drones into Poland.
The design is to test our resolve to respond, a calculation by Putin that a response will be no more than an Article 4 consultation—talk among NATO members.
No NATO country should tolerate this violation any more than the United States would tolerate Russian MiG’s or drones within our borders.”
