McCaul, Meeks Condemn Houthis’ Attack on Tel Aviv
Washington, D.C. — Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY) released the following statement condemning the Houthis’ attack on Tel Aviv and continued detention of civilian aid workers.
“We strongly condemn the Iran-backed Houthis’ unprecedented and deadly drone attack on Tel Aviv. For months they have launched attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea region, including killing and detaining innocent mariners. They have also arbitrarily detained dozens of innocent aid workers and former U.S. Embassy staff, and forcibly taken control of critical pharmaceutical facilities in Yemen while engaging in widespread human rights abuses. The United States and our international partners must work toward a more comprehensive strategy to counter the Houthis’ attacks and abuses.”
