Chairman Royce Statement on U.S.-France Agreement to Compensate Holocaust Victims
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the signing of an agreement between the United States and France to provide compensation to several thousand U.S. and other citizens who were victims of the Nazis and deported from France during the Holocaust:
“This is an important milestone in restitution efforts, and I commend the work of U.S. and French negotiators. I respectfully call on the French Parliament to approve this agreement swiftly so that these Holocaust victims may receive payments as soon as possible."
