Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on today’s introduction of bipartisan Iran sanctions legislation in the Senate:

“I welcome this bipartisan bill put forward today by Chairman Menendez and look forward to working with the Senate, should Senate leadership allow a sanctions bill to move.  Sanctions will continue to be critical if we are going to get a verifiable deal that stops Iran’s march to nuclear weapons.”

Note:  Chairman Royce is the co-author (with Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY)) of the bipartisan Nuclear Iran Prevention Act (H.R. 850), which was overwhelmingly passed by the House in July.
