Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, announced that Secretary of State John Kerry will testify before the Committee on Thursday, March 13.

The hearing, entitled “Advancing U.S. Interests Abroad: The FY 2015 Foreign Affairs Budget,” will provide Secretary Kerry an opportunity to justify President Obama’s FY 2015 foreign affairs budget request.

Chairman Royce said:  “The challenges facing the United States and our allies around the world are growing.  In responding, we must be certain that resources are used effectively and efficiently.  This requires not only strategic thinking, but a clearer articulation by the Obama Administration of its goals.  This hearing will provide an opportunity for Committee Members to press Secretary Kerry for an explanation of the Obama Administration’s foreign policy spending priorities for next year.”
