Washington D.C. – Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement regarding the ‘Uyghurs for Sale’ report, exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s mass transfer of Uyghur Muslims to factories across China.

“I am evaluating this troubling report. It is disturbing that these companies are potentially complicit in the CCP’s horrific human rights abuses against the Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities. The entities listed in the report should conduct immediate, thorough, and transparent assessments of their labor force and supply chains and make any changes necessary to ensure their business practices don’t facilitate the CCP’s enslavement of ethnic minorities.  Many American companies have built their business on values, including respecting human rights, and the international community looks to the U.S. to set corporate social responsibility standards. There can no longer be business as usual with China. The world is watching.”
