Washington D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee lead Republican Michael McCaul (R-TX) issued the following statement on the terrorist attack at the DusitD2 complex in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ranking Member McCaul: “The heinous attack by al-Shabaab in Nairobi that took the lives of 21 innocent people highlights America’s need to stay on offense in our global fight against terrorism. I am particularly pained by the loss of Jason Spindler, a Houston native and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Jason survived our country’s deadliest terrorist attack on 9/11, saving lives by pulling people from the rubble, but his life was cut short at the hands of violent extremists earlier this week.

“This cowardly act must not be tolerated by the international community. The entire world has a responsibility to eradicate this evil from the face of the earth.”
