Washington, D.C.– House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul issued the following statement on continuing efforts this Congress to implement AUKUS, building upon H.R. 1093 which passed the House overwhelmingly earlier this year.

“I will continue to lead efforts to help ensure the successful implementation of AUKUS throughout this Congress. This trilateral partnership with our longstanding and deeply trusted allies, Australia and the UK, will play a vital role in deterring further aggression in the Indo-pacific. To that end, I am pursuing bipartisan solutions to ensure the success of both Pillars I and II. Next week I will chair an AUKUS hearing with top State and Pentagon officials that builds upon the committee’s recent informative roundtables with UK and Australian officials along with Anduril, Hadrian, and BAE Systems, Inc. on relevant challenges.”
