Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), passed H. Res. 293, as amended, which is a bipartisan resolution authored by Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) that expresses concern over anti-Israel and anti-Semitic incitement within the Palestinian Authority.  Passage of the resolution comes after this morning’s Committee hearing entitled “Words Have Consequences: Palestinian Authority Incitement to Violence.”

Upon passage of H. Res. 293, Chairman Royce said:  “The escalation of violence against Israelis is praised, encouraged, and even fueled by Palestinian Authority officials.  This resolution rightly condemns this incitement and the outbreak of violence, and expresses support for those who are working to encourage peace and cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians. It is critical that we stand by our ally Israel at this challenging time.”
