Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, welcomed Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) as the newest Committee Member.  Rep. Duffy will serve on the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere and the Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.

Chairman Royce said:  “I am pleased to welcome Sean Duffy to the Committee.  During his time in Congress, he has quickly distinguished himself as a hardworking, steadfast advocate of strong and effective American leadership in the world.  He is an excellent addition to the Committee.  Given Rep. Duffy’s previous work as a district attorney in Wisconsin and extensive experience prosecuting sex crimes, I particularly look forward to working with him as the Committee continues its work to combat international human trafficking.”

Rep. Duffy said:  "The world has become an increasingly dangerous place. I look forward to working on the issues that drive America's global engagement. Although the President has stumbled on his foreign policy positions, the United States must stand firm in our efforts to promote democratic values and religious liberty. To my constituents at home in Wisconsin, I look forward to building on our trade partnerships with our allies in the global economy. I am grateful to Chairman Royce for his leadership on these issues and for allowing me the opportunity and honor to serve on this distinguished committee."
