Top Administration Officials Covering Syria and Russia to Testify

**See important planning note/RSVP requirement for media**

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow at 10 a.m., U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, will convene a hearing that examines U.S. policy in Syria.  The hearing is entitled “U.S. Policy After Russia’s Escalation in Syria.”

Chairman Royce on the hearing: “As Russia ramps up its military intervention in Syria, the Obama Administration still lacks a coherent strategy.  Meanwhile, opposition forces are the targets of increasing attacks coordinated by the Assad regime – with the Russians in the air, and the Iranians and their proxies on the ground.  While ISIS remains largely unscathed, the humanitarian crisis only gets worse.

“This hearing will focus on the Administration’s plans for Syria, including its policy regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s rapidly growing efforts to expand his influence in the Middle East.”
