Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the passage by the French Parliament of an agreement between the United States and France to provide compensation to several thousand U.S. and other citizens who were victims of the Nazis and deported from France during the Holocaust:

“Today is truly a historic day.  Seventy years after the terrors of the Holocaust, France has acted to ensure a measure of justice for victims of the Nazis.  I commend my colleagues in the French Parliament for their swift passage of this milestone agreement.”
