The purpose of this hearing is to focus on the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the two greatest challenges to it: Iran and North Korea. Prior to the 50th anniversary of the NPT and ahead of the 2020 NPT Review Conference in late-April, this hearing will assess the NPT, its various complementary tools and systems, and U.S. leadership of the international nonproliferation framework, as well as the threats posed by Iran and North Korea.
