Video Release: Chairman Royce Convenes Hearing to Examine U.S. Policy Toward Iran
Washington, D.C. — With the bipartisan H.R. 850, Nuclear Iran Prevention Act reaching nearly 330 house cosponsors this week, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) convened a hearing today to press the Obama Administration on U.S. policy toward Iran and its growing nuclear capabilities. The hearing was entitled “Preventing a Nuclear Iran.“

At the hearing, Chairman Royce said, “I am convinced that Iran will continue on this path until the sanctions bite so bad that the regime must relent or face upheaval. That is where we need to get.”
Witnesses included Wendy R. Sherman, Under Secretary for Political Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and David S. Cohen, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence at the U.S. Department of Treasury.
