Chairman Royce Condemns Iran’s Holocaust Cartoon Contest
Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) released the following statement condemning the government-supported Holocaust cartoon contest taking place this weekend in Tehran:
“This is the Iran that Secretary Kerry says is ‘open for business.’ It denies the Holocaust, holds international businessmen hostage, and launches missiles stamped with the message ‘Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth.’
“Since the Obama administration’s nuclear agreement went into effect, Iran has only grown more belligerent. The regime should not be rewarded for these dangerous and provocative acts. That’s why I’ve introduced legislation to deny Iran access to the U.S. dollar as long as it continues to threaten the American people and our allies.”
NOTE: On Thursday, Chairman Royce led the House Foreign Affairs Committee in convening a hearing to expose the risks of economic engagement with Iran.
