Tonight the House of Representatives passed the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act (H.R.1677). The bipartisan bill, introduced by Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) and Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA), seeks to impose sanctions on supporters of Syria’s Assad regime, encourage negotiations to end ongoing atrocities, and support prosecution of war criminals.

This bipartisan legislation would require the U.S. to develop a comprehensive strategy to increase and strengthen women’s participation in peace negotiations and conflict prevention globally.

Today the House passed a bipartisan bill, the Combating European Anti-Semitism Act of 2017 (H.R. 672), to require increased reporting on anti-Semitic incidents in Europe, greater collaborative efforts between U.S. and European law enforcement and improved security for Jewish communities.
