Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) issued the following statement on the release of the State Department’s 2017 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices:

I appreciate Acting Secretary Sullivan personally releasing this report. As Americans, we always have reason to promote tolerance and human rights overseas. And we should constantly look to do more. As the committee reviews these findings, we will continue to push policies to support people in places like Burma, Iran and Vietnam who yearn for basic freedoms we enjoy.”
