McCaul: “The Noose is Being Prepared”
Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul joined Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week” to discuss the escalating tensions at Ukraine’s border, the need for stronger deterrence, the impact a further Russian invasion would have on the United States, and why the Biden administration should have been sending additional lethal aid to Ukraine and imposing some meaningful sanctions on Putin months ago.
“The noose is being prepared. It’s around Ukraine as we speak right now. These are dangerous times. Time is of the essence This would be the largest invasion in Europe since World War II.”
“It’s a great question. Why is Ukraine important? It emboldens and empowers Putin…Xi is watching what is happening. Our adversaries are watching. If Putin can go into Ukraine with no resistance, certainly Xi will take Taiwan. He’s always wanted this.”
