McCaul, Meeks, James, Jacobs Bipartisan Statement Congratulating the South African People on Successful Elections
Washington, D.C. — Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Ranking Member Gregory W. Meeks (D-NY), Subcommittee on Africa Chairman John James (R-MI), and Ranking Member Sara Jacobs (D-CA) issued the following statement congratulating the South African people on the successful completion of recent elections.
“We congratulate the South African people on the successful completion of recent elections. Their voices have been heard, and the key parties have formed a Government of National Unity that must address South Africa’s challenges, including soaring unemployment and the clear need for economic growth. The country’s institutions have proven resilient, and now the government must work together to enact lasting reforms that will enable the success and prosperity of all South Africans.”
