McCaul Condemns Manda Bay Terrorist Attack
Washington, D.C.- Congressman Michael McCaul, Lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement condemning the terrorist attack carried out by al-Shabaab that took the lives of three Americans.
“I strongly condemn the terrorist attack at the Kenyan Defense Force Military Base carried out by al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda backed terrorist organization, that took the lives of three Americans and wounded several others. The U.S. must maintain pressure to address the urgent threat posed by al-Shabaab as it seeks to expand its influence in East Africa and use the region as a refuge for radical terrorists.
“We stand with our African partners in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism and will continue to work together to bolster counter-terrorism operations in the region. I am grateful for the quick response of U.S. and Kenyan forces that prevented any further loss of life at the hands of these terrorists today. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of these brave service members during this difficult time.”
