McCaul Condemns Maduro Regime’s Wrongful Convictions of Americans

Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul has released the following statement on the wrongful convictions of six American Citgo employees, most with deep ties to Texas, who have been unjustly detained in Venezuela for three years.

“I strongly condemn the Maduro regime’s wrongful convictions of Tomeu Vadell, Gustavo Cardenas, Jose Pereira, Jorge Toledo, Alirio Zambrano, and Jose Luis Zambrano on unsubstantiated charges. I have repeatedly called on the Maduro regime to free these innocent men, and I will continue to do so until they are released. It’s time for them to be sent back to their families here in the United States where they belong.”
