McCaul Announces Leslie Shedd to Join Staff as Communications Director
Washington, DC – Congressman Michael McCaul (TX-10), Lead Republican of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, has brought on veteran staffer Leslie Shedd as the new communications director for the House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans. Shedd has more than a decade of media experience, including serving in senior roles on statewide and national campaigns and on Capitol Hill. Shedd joins Sophie Seid, who serves as the press secretary, and Caroline Campbell, who serves as the director of member services and coalitions, in the communications shop.
“We are very pleased to have Leslie Shedd join our team at the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” said Lead Republican Michael McCaul. “She has extensive experience both on Capitol Hill and with the media, and will be a valuable resource to the committee as we continue to work to protect the homeland from global threats, educate about China’s global malign influence, and work with the Administration to advance America’s interests around the world.”
Prior to joining the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Shedd worked on several campaigns, including serving as deputy campaign manager and senior communications advisor for former Rep. Jim Renacci’s Senate campaign in Ohio, and as national press secretary for CARLY for America, the super PAC supporting Carly Fiorina’s presidential campaign. Prior to that, Shedd served as a communications director to Rep. Frank Lucas (OK-03) and former Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (GA-03). Most recently, she served as a senior vice president at Firehouse Strategies.
