ICYMI: Chairman McCaul on Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday”
Washington, D.C. – Today, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul joined Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday” to discuss the Biden administration’s crisis at America’s southern border and President Biden’s failure to support our friends and allies abroad.
– Highlights from the interview –
On terrorists entering the U.S. through the southern border:
“Two very frightening cases… ISIS smuggling operation. 400 – that we know of – were smuggled into the United States…When I chaired Homeland, this is my worst nightmare. My worst fear is to have the southern border exploited, terrorists getting into the country…These individuals got in and they were not here on a goodwill mission. They were here to do us harm.”
On America’s ability to support our ally Israel:
“But the fact is, we’re not helping them. In fact, this is what is the most disturbing to me is that we’re withholding weapons systems that I have signed off on in Congress as appropriate with the intent of sending those weapons to Israel… That is not helping Israel.”
On Ukraine:
“And by the way, same thing in Ukraine. You know, I wrote in, ‘must provide ATACMS to Ukraine to use against the Russians’…Well, they said they changed the policy, but they were limiting the weapons restricting them from using the very weapons that could effectuate that policy…Look – either give them everything they need to win or get out. Don’t tie one hand behind their back.”
