Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) applauded House passage of H. Res. 129, which calls on the Department of Defense and foreign governments to intensify efforts to investigate, recover and identify all missing and unaccounted-for U.S. personnel from past wars and conflicts.

Chairman Royce on passage of H. Res. 129: “This week, we celebrate the 45th anniversary of Operation Homecoming, which brought home hundreds of American prisoners of war from Vietnam, including the author of today’s legislation, Rep. Sam Johnson. I want to thank Rep. Johnson for introducing this legislation but more importantly for his valor and service. Sadly, there are thousands of U.S. personnel that never made it home. Our veterans and their families deserve to have a full accounting of their status. With today’s legislation, we recommit ourselves to this sacred task.”
