Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, announced the Committee will convene a hearing to examine the threat of ISIS.  The hearing, entitled “The Growing Strategic Threat of ISIS” will take place on Thursday, February 12 at 10 a.m. in 2172 Rayburn House Office Building.

Chairman Royce on the hearing: “The brutal murder of a captured Jordanian pilot illustrates ISIS’s total disregard for life.  Unfortunately, the terrorist threat is real and growing.   ISIS continues to control an area the size of Great Britain; makes extraordinary amounts of money through the black market and extortion; and its foreign fighter force numbers in the thousands – recruiting and radicalizing more each day. This hearing will examine the grave threat ISIS poses to U.S. allies and interests and ask how well the Obama Administration is responding.”
