Secretary Kerry to Testify at Hearing on Sept. 16

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, announced that on Tuesday, September 16 at 2pm, the Committee will convene a hearing at which Secretary of State John Kerry will testify about whether or not the Obama Administration has yet developed a strategy for combatting the terrorist group ISIS. 

Chairman Royce on the hearing:  “The President said his Administration had no strategy against ISIS two weeks ago, despite it long being on the march.  The Administration is sending mixed messages now.  ISIS is a serious threat to U.S. national security.  The Committee needs to hear a comprehensive strategy from Secretary Kerry on how the Administration is going to confront this brutal and sophisticated terrorist group.”

The hearing room will likely not be able to accommodate all members of the media wishing to cover the hearing from the press viewing area.
