Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) today announced the following staff appointments:

Cory Fritz will serve as Deputy Staff Director for Communications.  Fritz joins Chairman Royce’s staff after six years with Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), where he served in roles including Press Secretary and Political Communications Director.  Prior to working for Boehner, Fritz served as Speechwriter and Assistant Press Secretary for U.S. Senator George Voinovich (R-OH).  Fritz, a graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, is a native of Columbus, Ohio.   

Audra McGeorge has been promoted to Communications Director.  McGeorge has worked for Chairman Royce for nearly 10 years, most recently serving as the Committee's Deputy Communications Director.  McGeorge is a native of Southern California and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.

“Cory and Audra are talented communicators who will bolster our efforts to promote democracy and freedom in all its forms,” Chairman Royce said“Today America faces growing threats as a result of President Obama’s weak and indecisive foreign policy.  These appointments are about stepping up our efforts to hold the administration accountable, and advocate for clear strategies to secure our vital national security interests.”
