This joint hearing of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and Nonproliferation and the Committee on Armed Services Subcommittee on Intelligence and Emerging Threats and Capabilities will provide Members an opportunity to examine the roles, responsibilities, authorities, and programs of the several critical organizations in the State Department and the Department of Defense that address and reduce the risks of biological threats, whether naturally occurring, accidental, or deliberate. This hearing will also review how they are working internationally to combat these threats and the risks and threats deriving from advancements in biological technologies.
