Ahead of tomorrow’s House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing entitled “Syria After the Missile Strikes: Policy Options,” Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) met with Raed al-Saleh, Mounir Mustafa, Jehad Mahameed, and Manal Abazeed – members of the Syrian Civil Defense, also known as the White Helmets – to receive an update on the latest in Syria.

NOTE: Last month, Chairman Royce and the committee’s Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY) reintroduced the “Caesar Syrian Civilian Protection Act,” which imposes sanctions on supporters of the Assad regime.  The legislation passed the House unanimously in November of 2016, but the Senate did not act before the 114th Congress adjourned.
