Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) announced the committee will convene a hearing on Thursday, June 14, entitled “Democracy Promotion in a Challenging World.” The hearing will begin at 10 a.m.

Chairman Royce on the hearing: “From Turkey to Cambodia, democratic institutions around the world are under siege. That is why the U.S. is supporting innovative programs to address this disturbing trend. Promoting democracy is both a moral and strategic imperative for the United States. It helps keep America strong and free. This hearing will give members an opportunity to hear about the status of democracy around the globe, including trouble spots and successes.”
